Poland was but France wasnt. Britain and France were Allied with Poland before te war started and when the Nazis invaded Poland Britain and France threatened that if Hitler did not stop the invasion they would declare war on Germany. a few weeks later Britain and france declared war on Germany so that means that France WASNT in it from the first second. that answer is true because it was on wikipedia nd my teacher told me it when we were studying world war 2

watching this video almost made my cry because I thought of my grand father who fought in world war 2.

Stop worrying about which nation did what. All that matters is that we were all fighting in the name of democracy. The monster Hitler was trying to take away the Republican system and libralism, the one thing that makes humanity unique; Even if we encounter alien races in the future and count them, democracy, I think, will still be what makes our race, Homo Sapien Sapien, unique.
