the rear eangine renaults in the 1950's & 60's were all just vw beetle copies really.
the renault alpine a110 was a plastic copy of porsche's 356, but made from those ranault car parts instead of vw

great car,a legend amongst others :D i have been wishing for onesince i was a kid...i had a toy model of it and i used to stare at it for a long time...beautiful machine :D

No. But they shared the same rear engined layout. The A110 was derived from the rear engine Renaults of the era, just as the 911 was derived from the Volkswagen.
