inless they were only jumping from 100 or 200 ft and over water then if there parachutes got tangled it would slow them down a bit and they would hit the water with maybe a broken finger or less

umm base jumpers dont have any reserve parachutes becasuse they jump for such a low alttitude that if the main one fails to open they wouldnt have enough time to cut it away an then pull the reserve..by then they would of already hit the earth under them.
