I just thought to myself. If i was yoyoma or some amazing celloist. I think it would be so fun to to dress in ragtag clothing and go play on the street. See what people think. hehe or what would you do if you heard someone playing like that.

lol. if u were saying yo yo ma isnt good...id have to point you out on that one. hes one of the best. and by saying you must play the piece as it was, that shows ignorance. Bach's original manuscript was very minimalistic. no temp/dynamics/playing style. just notes. you add your own little thing to it as you choose.

Certainly, music is a matter of taste. But read what I said - if you play the piece as it was, arguably, intended to be played, like Rostropovich did, it isn't any less passionate or evocative. That is why virtually everyone else plays it otherwise.

i love Yo Yo Ma's stylee of playing better than Rostropovich. Not saying that he was not a brilliant cellist because he was one of the best in the world with Yo Yo Ma

i love it

i thought the opposite, it was expressed just fine. i dont like rostropovich because i think its a little too fast limiting it being expressed as much.

you feel the passion and love he puts into the music!!!!

I love Yo-Yo Ma!!! Go MA!! WHOO-HOO!!!!!

Too slow. Just listen to the other masters, Rostropovich, Casals, Maisky, and others. Not that Ma is not good - quite the contrary. But play the music as it was written. It is no less evocative and passionate.
