You are absolutely right. Tom and Jerry is not the best comparison. It is great American cartoon. Just made in a different stile. They are incomparable. Some commenters so exited about Russian cinema, so they forget that it is not the only cinema in the world.

There is a saying, that artists are engineers of the human soul. Arts in general and particularly movies significantly influence mind of millions of people. This influence can be positive, but it also can be negative. Some movies can teach high moral standards to people, and others can deprave them. Arts can be a very serious weapon. It shouldnt be uncontrolled. Censorship is needed in the same way, as a quality control in industry.

Quality of movies dropped down below the plinth level. Today situation is a little bit better. Some movies are not bad. However, the overage level of Russian cinematograph is far away from that of the Soviet age.

You wont trust me, but in fact the soviet censorship influenced our cinematograph very positively. After 1991 all our actors and producers became free from censorship. And what do you think had happened? It looked like somebody switched a knob. There were no more those kind and wise movies, which you could watch hundred times and never get tired of them. Instead of that, free creators released tons of unbelievable garbage.

Wow, watching this again after 10 years.. Brings a tear into my eye How kind this Animation is, Too bad Nowdays Most cartoons contain The Oppisite, are Rude and Really, Dont feel musch like a cartoon, More like Crap.

Yep! All Soviet animation was for children, not for money. And that real idea of Soviet nation, do anything for people, not for money.
