Make sure the snare wires don't still have the damping over them for delivery purposes, the one I bought at our local store did have! Just a thin strip of velcro over the top of them, but the difference when I took it off was amazing!

The cajon with the pedal is a useless cajon. Meinl went to far with innovation. This La Peru flamenco cajon is an excellent Instrument. Look for a flamenco cajon and you will find a good one it does not have to be this one though. There are good cajones and there are better. This one is one of the best although the price is too much for a plywood cajon. I think if the cajon was made of solid wood i would pay 300 dollars but for this one even if it is a La Peru should not cost more than 200.

I messed around with the cajons at the local music store, and none of them sounded very good. The snares are kind of lame on a lot of them.

Nice demo!! Very simple, but informative. What do you think of the new cajon with the pedal? Is it really worth the 200+ dollars or should I start off with a basic snare cajon.
Thanks for your advise in advance!!

What I meant was to lean the cajon slightly backwards. |
