I had never heard of Yosuke Yamashita before I saw him play the piano on a burning instrument. His setting fire to pianos revolted me (I wish I could only afford one myself !). Nonetheless, I think his version of Greensleeves is absolutely magical.

You can't even compare this to the original folk tune, nothing is the same but occasionally a similar melody....heh, great job on this.

The version doesn't degrade the original version. Instead, with the excellent techniques, the piece embraces gracefully the spirit of rhapsody and enrighes the insight of the song. A beautiful tribute. Superb.

i like this jazzy version of this song, althoguh the classic version still sounds better with its calming sound.

What a brilliant rendition!! The way he forges this trad folk song into jazz; the height of leap is truly transcendence. It must be very dangerous to be so adventurous. This is the kind of jazz only geniuses can play. |
