Acctually its liquid nitrogen poured onto a superconductor. When its supercooled it expels a magnetic field. When the magnet was placed on top it levitated.

It is not dry ice. What he used was sulfur hexafluoride. It is 5 times more dense than regular air. So, because of it's density, it is able to hold up that silver thing.
But be careful when using sulfur hexafluoride. Make sure the work area is vented well, or wear a mask because inhaling SF6 displaces the oxygen needed for breathing. It is similar to helium, except breathing SF6 results in a reduction of pitch instead.

the thing he poured in was dry ice or a fog maker and that nitrogen and since it froze in the block and after a while it dies
