The tape on which this song was listed was one of the best Barry every released. I played it until it wore out and was never able to find another one. I think it was "Paradise Cafe" from the early '80's. Barry's the best!

I agree, songs like this one are few a far between these days. You used to always hear a song somewhere that evoked a memory or two as this song does for me:.-(

And yes, SKINNYBEAR, I do put this album on every November... :-) Man... Sarah Vaughn, Mel Tormé... what a great album "2 A.M. Paradise Café" was!

I was 15 when this was released, and I loved it the second I heard it. They used to play it in late 1984 on KFI 640 Los Angeles. I was able to pull in the signal all the way up near the Oregon border in Crescent City; I still have this song on a tape I recorded from the radio (KFI). It's one of my favourite songs to sing; I wish I could find a Karaoke version. Thanks for posting this! Great memories.

I love Barry. He is so cool. does anyone have the copy with Nancy Wilson singing it? She does a great job too.

Bittersweet describes this song perfectly. It is rich in meaning and evokes so much imagery.
