Geek!

Sorry, mistake. It's only a 100MHz increase. Even worse...

Well, a popular thing going around the desktop community is people using laptop processors on their desktops. They say with the right motherboard the overclocking possibility's are endless and there's no problems with heat. However, the downside is that laptop processor technology is always behind the desktop in terms of the # of cores. But I agree with you, I have a AMD Phenom 9950 and it's wattage is 140W which is just insane since its only a 200 MHz increase over the 9850(125W) 65nm sux...

it would be easier if they made energy star and rohs compliant desktop cpus rather than needing an industrial air conditioner or fluid mechanism just to cool a chip down for playing a video game. geez! Cpus that need active cooling do because theyre poorly designed and inefficient. VIA can make chips that do 2 GZ and consume only 25 watts TDP, INTEL desktop chips on the other hand are mostly power inefficient which hinders performance stability and increases cost of ownership.

Sounds more like liquid cooling will become a must in the future, or at least fans on everything(!!!NOISE!!!)

the reason ddr3 has more latency (cas 7 and up) is because the higher frequencies make it overheat, more wattage & heat causes latency its the same rule for processors, the higher the wattage a cpu has the more latency the cpus has, but thats something cpu companies dont like to talk about. the other issue with cpus with more than 20 watts TDP is that they gradually become microwave cookers

By the way no extra noise !

creo que falta mucho para que este al alcanze de todos los SSD en un precio accesible siendo que se necesitan discos de mas de 200 GB para todo lo que una PC requiere ahora |
