This project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so.

I would have to disagree with the message in this video, provided that the message is teachers in general fail to provide enough encouragement for students to learn. Granted, there are of course some teachers in the U.S. who are terrible and cannot "engage" their students at all, but (from personal experience as a high school senior) most of the problems come from the students themselves: their lack of desire, responsibility, and care for school.

The original by mwesch was better. I see that some ideas were borrowed from "did you know?" also. I actually feel a little ripped off, all the messages were written by the same person. Look at the y's, they are all the same, this doesn't give a "genuine" feel to the message. However, this is a interesting and different way to present the information that was pulled from the two videos (maybe more). You "remixed" the information, I applaud that ^_^

Looks to me like the message is books are boring, and that video games, tv, music, surfing the web are more authentic. Does engage me really mean entertain me? The 300 million honour students in China aren't motivated by technology, but by desire to learn and succeed.

Fat childrens manipulated by them teacher, showing on youtube writes about what him/her think they would think. Wow

if kids were taught to think sooner, ie if learned logic, they would learn to contradict their idiotic teachers...

That comment was a reply to MoPapparani, by the way

If you think students can be the slightest bit engaged in a classroom with a teacher who knows nothing about new technology you are out of your mind. The education system now is designed for people 20 years ago at best. You don't seem to understand the difference between a digital native and a digital immigrant (you and me, pal), and are so far out of touch it's not funny. You have no right to cast any aspersions, and are shouting your ignorance from the tree tops.

You have to have a fundamental knowledge of the world around you before you can analyze, create, blah, blah. Point taken, though.
