His name is Padma Newsome, he's Australian. As well as playing strings he helps with arrangements etc. I met him when they played in London a few years ago, top bloke.

hes is not officially in the band. he is their manager/producer, whatever. the same guy is the manager of the band "interpol". he is just so amazed by the music of "the national" that hes always on stage with them... :)

yeah, I forget his name but he's on the new dvd. he apparently is officially in the band. he's from Australia, super nice dude. he hung out after we saw them in Pontiac a week ago.

17 songs!?! We had a 45 minute set (hmm... maybe that IS about 17 songs). They played most of Boxer, Baby We'll Be Fine and closed with Mr. November.
