to all shred heads............you do not need to know scales to play this way just like you don't need to know the every word in a dictionary to learn how to talk. We learn to talk before we learn how to read so there. Once you hammer in scales the shit sounds like exactly that...........SCALES

As too did I not say that scales are the only thing you need to know. But you do need to know them before you can play any good music, then comes the music making part. Because I'm pretty sure composers choose key signatures and modulations before they put any notes at all in.

I didn't say i didn't like scales, but theres a lot more to making music than scales. I have a friend who knows every scale there is, but i tried to jam with him and he has absolutely no idea how to make music with them.
