As a free born Englishman I thank those lads for what they did. And for the opportunity to write this

At an australian service i attended there were numerous mentions of kiwis, particularly the support of the kiwi artillery to the australians in the battle of long tan, i guess it depends on the service you attend but i reckon in general the aussies acknowledge their kiwi counterparts.

Not so, it's more inclusive of Australia back home.

You do realise the important phrase there was 'in Australia' anvilofcrom? New Zealand focuses on the Kiwis during ANZAC Day, Australia focuses on the Aussies.

the magnificent 9th was a tremendous division that fought at Tobruk & Finshhaven in New Guinea

I'm a Kiwi living in Australia and come ANZAC day you'd think New Zealand had nothing to do with the ANZAC tradition, we barely rate a mention.

Thanks Vizaar for posting the excellent video. Few people know/talk about those brave soldiers, let alone making documentaries.! Many Indian divisions also fought and paid a big price by sacrificing large number of lives along with Anzacs, but to my knowledge only one video about them on You tube. Also thanks for "commencing" posting videos [long ones] after a long "silence".!

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm a New Zealander, my Grandfather fought in the Pacific in WWII, and my Great-Grandfather and two Great Grand Uncles served on the western front in WWI. It's excellent to see a documentary accurately reflecting the ANZAC military service, and not just telling the Australian side of the story. |
