Thank you so much for the news, VeryFindWhine. I hope it's not too late for him to try some alternative treatments that could boost his immune system to fight the disease. The conventional methods such as chemotherapy and radiation that kill body cells blindly would only kill him. :(

I'm delighted to reply yes. He has an update web site where he gives highlights (so to speak) of his life. But most ARE quite high. Just Google his name and click the update page. Guess the last bout of chemo was rough and he's regaining his strength from that. But very much still alive thankfully!

I know Randy and he is not a conceited jerk. He was a trifle arrogant in the way that many successful male academics tend to be, nothing more. But now even that arrogance has evaporated as he has neared his mortality. And to those who think Randy is an atheist, he is not: he believes in an afterlife.
