My mom was pretty young when she got it. She was only 53 when she was officially diagnosed with it by the doctor but by then it was to late. I would say she started acting funny around age 51. In to her 5th year my mom is showing signs of soon to be bed ridden. I hope they find a cure someday

My grandmother just got diagnosed with this. I saw the signs years ago, but didnt think it would turn into full fledged AD. So now im researching to bring things for a better understanding to prepare for present and future. I have to admit, coming on Youtube and hearing other ppls real life stories and circumstances is really heartbreaking. Best wishes to u all! :)

My mom has had alzheimers for 7 years. This is a very difficult journey for us all. Please enjoy the song I wrote.

Being a caregiver is the hardest thing in the world. I can honestly say I didn't see much sunlight for more than 2 years until i got someone to help me

I was guilty of not taking care of myself and crashed hard. Fortnately, my sisters have picked up the responsiblity but God, why can't they find a cure for this? It is devastating and I am so sorry for anyone who has to live through it. May God Bless You All.

If anyone would have told me my family would be in this shape, ten years ago, I would have called them a fool. Well folks, it is very real and nobody can know the pain this past few years has been. Thanks for showing your support and remember to care for yourself, because if not you may end up sick, like I was. Then you are no good to anyone.

My mother has been diagnosed for over 2 years now and we can't even talk to eachother for fear of all the anger and confusion. My father has been her care giver and I know he is so tired. Since I seem to trigger her anger, it is best for her and I to remain seperate. It breaks my heart not to see them and today is my Father's birthday. It hurts so bad to not be free to call him today.

I think it would be interesting if old people got anti-Alzheimer's disease where they slowly began to recover other people's lost memories.
