Ocean View Amusement Park in Norfolk, VA had a 13 footer in captivity.
His body was about 3 feet wide!

well its big....its hard to say how big because theres nothing in the back ground to compare the sizes. i live on lake eufaula AL. and ive seen 15footers on a regular basis. there beautiful animals... im going to guess those voices in the back ground were kids and another guess was they were swimming at some point in that river.... just be sure there are no dogs around (gators love dogs) and keep a good eye out...

Trust me I did, yeah he was freaking huge. He kind of looks like a theme park puppet, but he is the last thing I ever want to swim with.
