When you abandon control of the club to gravity, magic happens! You achieve the right swing plane(golf pro lesson swing plane), you hinge at the right moment(Golf Pro Lesson arm motion), you unhinge at the right moment(golf pro lesson through the ball) and (golf pro lesson arms falling down plane) to get spectacular lag...all my videos can be seen on my "you tube Shawn" page of my website and you can order my dvd there as well which has all the elements of my vids and more! I like your videos very much, very instructive with a touch of humour. Here is my question. I assume you know Joe Dante's book about the Four Magical Moves. The first one puzzles me because it makes a lot of sense. Most people struggle with the transition from the one-piece take away to breaking the wrists. Now, if you break the wrists at start followed by the take-away, that transition moment is fixed, no big deal anymore. Why has this method not become popular I wonder?
Thanks,
Clemens

The Medicus requires a very slow takeaway than usual depending on your settings.

A great book to help you internalize these techniques is the "inner Game Of Tennis" by Timothy Gallway; try to find his original 1974 edition from a used book store...priceless!
He did write the inner game of a lot more subjects including golf but this is by far his best work;
Thanks for your comment! Shawn

I've been struggling with consistency this season, and reviewed this video. I love your "crane operator" analogy and was able to sort out problems with my takeaway.
I found that the added benefit was that it reduced alot of tension at address because it took the hands out of the equation.

Wow, been watching nothing but your vids the last few days, this one helped me out a lot! New to golf and never really had lessons other than reading a few books and some DVD's. Why can't the other instructors (various other pga pros) teach like you guys? All this time, I thought you lifted the club up with your hands, not gravity (sorry only been playing for about a year). What a difference! No wonder i been hitting the ground a lot either behind the ball or right at the ball.bying ur DVD soon!

This helped me alot thanks, i'm new to golf by only 2 years and since then have been struggling with developing my swing. I came to the conclusion that the point of the power of the shot is in the body, not the arms but could never hit the ball right at full swing. I developed it from 50% to 60% swing with good results and practice, but this video got me to around 80% full of my develpoed swing with great results too, so thankyou. |
