great cover....but don't get ahead of yourself.
this live version right here, I would say is maybe, just maybe better than Hendrix's studio version....
however, it can't even as much as hold a candle to any of Jimi's live versions.
just listen to this and cry

Agreed. could be a pedal though on the fender. Light is on (look when his shadow covers it). Looks more like a 2x12 like a Twin Reverb than the 2x10 Vibrolux I stated earlier. Also - Pino Palladino on bass?

Oh really? How about Hendrix doing All Along The Watchtower? Van Halen doing You Really Got Me? Just a couple off the top of my head. I give full credit to the original artists ( I love Bob Zimmerman) but sometimes the writer isn't the best player , I'm I'm not saying Moore is better than Jimi.

I've seen him use a Marshall with the red tolex before , even as far back as his Thin Lizzy days. His sound sure is Marshall like. I seriously doubt he would get that fat sound with a Fender - Fender combination.

ok- your crazy

Not sure if its the Marshall. I see what looks to be a Fender Vibrolux or something along those lines behind him as well.

When i first saw this when the DVD was released i watched it about 10times in a row, its f*cking awesome!!!! For me miles better than any version ever recorded! I just cant wait for the Jimi Tribute Gig to come on DVD that Gary did last year!!!

Enjoy a brilliant cover but don't get carried away and lose your marbles away like so many people tend to do. A copy (in this case a brilliant cover) can never better than the original. Think art and you will realize how ridiculous that sounds. Capiche?
