You know what? I have one the same size as "pete" here...He's name is Zilla, and let me tell you these reptiles are good to have when you are alone, by boy is about 2.5 feet long and eats exactly the same, but a good story is that one day i let him play in the front yard. In his normal corner shrubs every where, he ambushed a cat back there and that was the end of him but what a mess to clean I'll tell ya. That was a cat the whole nieghborhood wants dead..Like the size but watch the curle up.lol

I have never really liked when you have to feed animals other LIVE animals. But i guess that's just the nature of the beast when having such animals.. I'm thinking of getting me a Savannah or Nile monitor myself.. But.. I don't want to kill the little mices like this.. :( Guess i have to if i want one..
