BTW you should try TM, you'd be amased by how solid it is.

Audio tapes are inconvenient because an audio tape wouldn't know if you did it right or not, nor be able to monitor your progress. Well wouldn't it be great if there was a meditation that got rid of depression right away? TM does this. it did it to me. And it has to many many people. As for watching your favorite comedy. Didn't help for me either. Used to watch family guy every day last year. Didn't help either. It simply didn't made me truly happy as i am now.

Fine :)

No one is complaining. :-)

I'm not saying TM is a myth. It works, that's a fact. But there's other options. If what I previously offered doesn't work, I suggest getting a meditation on audio. These work like TM, in that someone is guiding you into meditation. If you're depressed I don't suggest meditation right away. I would suggest watching your favorite comedy and then devoting some time to focusing on what SOLID STEPS you can take to improve your situation. Don't think, DO! Hope that helps.

You can complain all you want, TM is still proven by science. The only information i can find about TM's affection being a myth is from people who claim that maharishi killed the beatles.
Juliusandroide (October 6, 2008 at 1:03 am)
Try doing that when you're depressed. Now that might work for someone, but certainly not everyone (it didn't work on me, used to try out those "free" meditations before). It will probably not on people with ADHD for example. This is what separates TM from other techniques, that TM works for EVERYONE, no matter how deep down into depression you are.
madsketcher (October 3, 2008 at 11:00 pm)
Exactly. I've read a comment along the lines of "Well, science has proven that TM yadda yadda yadda" - there are COUNTLESS ways to meditate and get the same results. I'm surprised that there's still a myth about this. I mean, just go look around on the internet for info. I have my own way of meditating and it works for me. They're absolutely right about the expansion.

logic isn't better than intuition. i think you missed the point of this!
