it's a system mounted on the regular exhaust, it is a pipe closed by a valve, that you open by different ways (remote, manually etc) and when you open it, it actually makes a free exhaust, which makes the car sound louder and you may get a few more hp... But I say may cause we never know

ya my mom had a 68 with a golden paintjob...then one day she ran over a plastic bag which cought on to something and cought on fire, the fire dep. took an ax to her trunk..the only thing we have now of it is a set of blackend keys and the cap with the musang which was under the trunk
but now she bought an 08 so shes happy
but all in all thats a nice car!
and dont run over a stupid plastic bag :)

he's right the sound of the bullit mustang was a gt40 exhaust note dubbed in over the video, thats why i sounds like mcqueen is double clutching it, the original gt40 didnt have synchronizers in the tranny, in one scene mcqueen double clutched just to make the exhaust puff smoke to go with the sound track.

how can you tell if u got an R code Mustang from 68
DEF90JAM (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
i don't know what you're saying but the bullit mustang was a gt390, not a gt350, and the gt390 had nothing to do with shelby, also, the gt40 was designed and built in the uk
