Well, I guess he just heard the song in reverse, and practised how to mimic that over and over. Not easy, but not impossible either.

If you notice in some clips he's actually walking backwards and the clip is playing forwards as normal, it doesn't quite look natural hehe.

good track to listen to, whilst on a cold, quiet walk at night...to clear your mind, as previously said
I just realised this video is similar to jack johnsons, "sitting, waiting, wishing," in the sense that everything is in reverse, apart from the movement of his lips to the lyrics
