I thought it was Earth, Wind and Fire and most people did because it had those elemnets that make EWF so great, sweeping jazzy Larry Dunn keyboards Maurice White -type lead vocal and Phoenix Horns sound that Caldwell got. The peaked at no.6 on the R&B charts, white acts hit no.1 on the charts with no problem so it must have been an American label who played mostly rock music, because AWB played on "Soul Train" and charted on the R&b charts regularlywith no problems.
