first i have to comment on how simon didn't even know israel's full name, i think iz deserves a little more respect than that
second jason was nowhere near as good as israel kamakawiwo, billybojoe. if jason was as big as iz would ne one even notice him, no.
he's just another pop star.
iz will always be remembered for defining/exemplifying Hawaiian music

omg! i just love him! he sang this beautifully. he's a person who will be a HIT in the music industry. & he's also the type of person that america and the rest of the world needs right now. he's unique, has a great voice, and is DEFINITELY not like anyone else :) go jason! <3

You're absolutely right, Iz is not the original composer, but he really made his mark on this song in his unique interpretation with the ukulele. It's easily identifiable that this dude is has based his interpretation on Iz's version, and what we're saying is that he simply doesn't compare - it's not bad, but it's far below the par of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's take.
