No mods... new filter caps only. JAN 6V6s, RCA pre's. The GA19RVT is a 12" speaker amp... perhaps you have something different? Drive/boost the front end hard, turn down the volume control until you get the right amount of treble.

I have two of those tweed Falcons, but they sound nowhere near as good as yours! Also 10F100 in one (new) jensen C10Q in the other. What mods did you do on yours?

hey wb, thanks for listening, as always. I'm using my little tweed Falcon, it's got RCA preamp tubes (6EU7) and a Weber 12A125 (the 20w version) for speaker, JAN 6V6 finals (19 watts!). I'm boosting it with a FDII set for clean treble boost. The guitar is my one-owner '78 heavy ash Strat... most notable is the FRED pickup in bridge pos'n. The box I reach down to turn on during the intro is the latest addition, an Echoplex EP3... just a little slapback to put some spank on it.
