Sweet!! Just a side comment to those interested. Notice that hand that swims under the opponent's arm must rest on your wrist. If it does not, the opponent can scoop your left arm (the one holding him/her down) and lock it into a "cow's hoof" position, which will be impossible to get out from.
You would start great and end in disgrace. :-)

Thanks for the reply, I really thought the other way was more natural. The uppercut example made it crystal clear!!! forever indebted. do you train with them? I wish they were closer to my location.

Yeah the techniques have officially evolved. Rener and Ryron teach stuff that's a little bit different from what was originally taught by Helio/Rorion and they have their blessings because Helio said that even he's still evolving too. Anyways, palm up is just a more natural motion which you would need if someone plants their elbow to the ground preventing you from wedging it through. Just try doing an uppercut with palm facing toward you instead of away and you'll see what I mean.

technical question. I see that and you even mentioned it that you put the hand under PALM UP, i'm curious why, I've seen an old training series from Rorion and Royce and he did it PALM DOWN, which would seem more natural to me. But you specifically mentioned it and you guys are far and away the most articulate and technical instructors I've ever seen, has the technique evolved? Please explain. I love your series by the way, your videos have improved my game 100%.
