An intersting Commercial to sell the reocord. Too much talk, only teasing tit bits of music.
Maybe decades later we will be thankful.?

Sorry, it doesn't groove. Just a shallow engineering stunt. All the people writing in just like the idea or are impressed by the tech stuff, but its trash, the kind of cd that somebody listens to once or twice out of novelty...and then its boring. Bloggers love to praise stuff, though. All these kind of "theme" (gimmick) Jazz/Pop recordings may sell well short term, but they're dragging the recording scene and the Jazz scene down, because the music is weak and generally dull - and NO GROOVE.

this stuff is seriously tight

Dry and doesn't swing !! Do we have the same CD?
johnnycchops (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Dry, over-compressed studio sound for the band tracks. Digital reverb only, which doesn't match well with Ray's live sounding tracks. The vocal doesn't often hook up with the instrumental tracks very well in a rhythmic/groove sense. Should have maybe just issued the original "unbalanced" recording. Would make for better music. They may have worked hard on it, but that doesn't make it swing! Any undoctored live recording of Ray's would surely way outgroove this cd.
