2. He ignores the fact that the statements religious people (at least Christians) are making are not that they themselves are the work of nature. Fairytales about Superman and Mother goose, talk of these things as a part of the work of nature, the due course of things. A Virgin Birth, was never talked about as a work of nature, but a Supernatural working. Something that comes from beyond nature itself, just as Nature itself must have been caused by the Supernatural (that which surpasses it).

Bill Maher is hilarious, I love him, and I think he is one of the most honest and respectful people I have seen on TV for a while. But I think he is gravely mistaken, about a few things: 1. He clumps all world religions in one class, when they should all be dealt with separately

I doubt anyone could turn Agnostic or Atheist w/o following a religion beforehand. Many families raise their children involving superstitions such as God, catching cold, and the Boogeyman.
It's when a kid questions what's learned that they finally develop opinion. I encourage that.
