Not sure if he was the "God". BUT, there has never been a singer to compare with the one and only MRafi, simply the best singer upon the creation of mankind. Of this I have no doubt. I have been enjoying his songs and his voice for over 40 years....Naturally, the above comments are my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Dev anand himself said lately that, his most difficult songs and most popular songs are sung by Rafi, he continued saying that Rafi has sung maximum songs of mine (Rafi sahab 233 and kishore 176). He also said songs of mine which were sung by rafi were of different league altogether and they cannot be sung by any other singer including kishore and also emphasized the government to give bharat ratna to rafi sahab.

Rafi saheb's versatility for such melodious memories are to be taken as a classic,
a class in themselves.These songs remind me of a Flower by the name of " Forget me not".

How subtly love is expressed. The Tabla beautifully blending with rafi's golden voice. Evidence of a team spirit. Good lyrics, good music, good singing.

Why are you comparing the God with the creation. Rafi was the God of the craft of singing. It is demeaning to compare him with anyone. Creation can be good, very good, brilliant, but not the God Himself.

I so disagree coolnmisty! KK's voice was just right for Dev.More importantly KK's voice isn't smoothly toffee-like with no sudden twists. It's rugged, it's got pathos, it's got verve, it's this humdinger of a voice that slays you sweetly. |
