This guy was one of jimmy pages main influences... I mean come on hes a legend for just that alone.. probably the greatest musician to pluck an acoustic.

Check out Wizz Jones. I never heard better.

John Renbourn --- Davy Graham (especially several early instrumental albums and the original 'Anji') --- Leo Kottke --- Michael Hedges --- Gordon Giltrap (although his incessant use of a 'ripple' effect becomes tiresome) --- Tommy Emmanuel (his 'Initiation' CD is a brilliant electric guitar album) --- Wes Montgomery (jazz played mostly with his thumb!!) --- Andy McKee (Look on Youtube) --- BUT MOST OF ALL, if you're a guitar player, look for FRETKILLR (no 'e') on Youtube.

Bert used to play second guitar on John Renbourn records and vice versa. Try Renbourn.

nick drake was even better plus fantastic lyrics. "five leaves left" is his most accessible album. also "solid air" by john martyn is very original. both of these albums stand up very well to repeated listening.
