pink, wtf are you talking about? yes, im young and prolly uneducated compared to you but i know that usa was in a war in vietnam. i was just stating that the reason why hendrix was playing with those crazy sounds in the middle of the national anthem was his way of correlating war to America. thats just the way i thought of it. dont post a friggin essay in response to it.

England asked Americans to help them because Great Britain was under attack in homeland and Hitler was planning to conquer it. Nazi power was conquering the entire Europe. The whole world was changing in a bad way and America had to fight. But Vietnam war was not important as WW2. Then US withdrew from that country but what happened? Nothing, Vietnam became communist but now who cares about it? That war was not important for the future of mankind like WW2 and was right to not send troop there

And don't do to our veterans of today what many Americans did to our Vietnam vets. That would be crazy but not uncoordinated !!! Take Care

I believe the song was spontaneous because the band never joined in except for the drummer & Jimi was winging it. With a crowd like that! A moment & he seized it. Maybe he was proud.
So Go Vote for Obama to make a statement? Your vote will never wash away the the pride I feel about the brave men and women that have fought for us & for our freedom.

Korea >?? Maybe the TV show "Mash" rings a bell?? Jimi actually enlisted in the ARMY (or go to jail the judge said) on May 31, 1961. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division and stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He slept on duty, had little regard for regulations, required constant supervision, and showed no skill as a marksman. For these reasons, his commanding officers submitted a request that Hendrix be discharged from the military after serving 1 year.

You must be young and uneducated. The United States entered the war to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam. They asked for our help and despite every effort .... many, many lives lost. England asked us to help them fight against the Nazi's in WW2. Many countries had already lost the fight to Hitler .... and many many lives lost. It's a good thing we are not all talking German.

i know it sounds really crazy and uncoordinated, but there is a reason why jimi was making all the crazy noise in the middle of the national anthem. he was making a statement and the noise meant to show that america was a country built on war or maybe it was a statement against Vietnam which i believe America was in a war against at the time. all the noise emphasized bomb explosions, gun fire, screams, and sirens. its really powerful and the way he showed with a guitar was completely original.

I can't help but wonder what kind of music he would have evolved into if only he had lived.
RIP Jimi.

It's his version, and probably one of the most radical versions of the National Anthem, yet, you can still sing the words to it until about half way through, when it stops being the Star Spangled Banner and turns into a bunch of noise.
The rest of you in here, like it or not, really need to clean up your 'expressions' or you will show your ignorance in your one word vocabulary. |
