Nah, Jaime Foxx isn't the best choice. I can't see him play Sam Cooke. A young Denzel Whashington would've been a great choice to play Sam Cooke. Today Larenz Tate or Terrence Howard would be the best pick.

Kimval34b is not making reference to who had the best voice.Sam Cooke admired those who could write meaningful melodies and songs that touched the spirit of an individual.Yes,Sam Cooke`s voice was like no other in his time nor since.

Sam was great, and his death was a true tragedy. this was his last song, and i think his best. he wasn't just great, he was getting better. i understand that he was inspired, as many were by Bob Dyan's song writing and wanted to write something with real meaning. i think he really hit the bulls-eye with this

I agree with you 100%, I couldn't have put it better myself. Most people don't even realize the deep this song is & the depth of the lyrics, losing him over some BS like that was definitely a tragic loss! There'll never be another!

I've studied American history, politics and literature, and the place still baffles me. I can't believe some of the comments this song has brought up, what a testament to music and people power, its just a shame some people miss the point. I love Sam Cooke and this song haunts me. x Liverpool

A real tragedy on the way he died.

Most definately. Best comment. He totally killed the role of Ray Charles. Very talented. He is a good choice for Sam Cooke.
