LOL, are you serious? Huckabee was horrible! He believed global warming could be solved by governments, he believed in theocracy, he believed in banning smoking NATIONWIDE, he never fought for a balanced budget while in Arkansas, didn't fight against tax increases, his son gets in trouble every 6 months, believed wives should bow down to their husbands, Huckabee sucks! No offense to you......why did you like him so much?

He was preaching to the choir!

This is the man Obama calls his mentor. He wed him and Michelle 17 years ago! He has been educating Obama on black liberation theology since Obama was younger! His message is filled with hate just like McCains! Vote different, vote for peace!

Very important you read! Don't just vote, vote with a cause.....otherwise, stay at home and enjoy the day. It would be better than voting for one of these two warmongering, loss of liberties, high tax candidates! Instead vote for libertarian Bob Barr and make your voice heard!

kaleb: Think about it. If he were speaking to HIS OWN congregation, why would it even be necessary to use his own pulpit to try to "influence" politics? If Obama were a longstanding member of that congregation (and a "favorite son," wouldn't it be unnecessary; as Rev Wright would literally be "preaching to the choir"?
African American churches use politics, as well as other good and bad aspects of life regularly, as part of worship, to make the Bible to relevant contemporary life.

Actually you are wrong. He wasn't trying to influence politics. What most people don't understand about the black church is the people already know what's going on in the world. The reverend talking about it doesn't make a difference but essentially what he is saying is that we need to change our behavior to one another. That's not politics that religion. In religion you include everyone including those in politics. |
