I used to think the same thing, as I don't think music today can compare to music of legends such as Clapton and SRV, but my mind got changed by John Mayer. Clapton personally brought John Mayer on to shows with him because he CAN play the bluesy stuff. I know the stuff on the radio (body is a wonderland, say) is not indicative and I agree does not take that much talent, however, his album stuff such as man on the side (incredible guitar) and vultures is amazing.

John Mayer looks and sings like a fag. His voice is atrocious. Stick your pop stuff John Mayer, you can't play bluesy stuff you fail. Stop copying Clapton and SRV
