Meryl Streep is one of the finest actress of her generation, perhaps the best. She was so beautiful in this movie and her acting is colossal indeed.

You're right, there's NOTHING funny about the horrible things the Nazis did to so many people.
However, there ARE scense IN the movie (especially when they show the friendship amoung Sophie, Nathan, and Stingo) where there IS humor (as well as tenderness and sadness).

I still bring this video tribute just to see the phots of this movie. The "LOL" comments confuse me. What is funny about a movie about what the Nazis did to many people? It is a good novel turned into a great screen play about what hatred and ignorance do to do the innocent.
