Note on the rejected EU Constitution and Lisbon Treaty:
The people of France and the Netherlands rejected the proposed EU constitution in the 2005 referendums. After this, other countries cancelled a promised referendum and the EU Constitution was re-written as an "amending treaty" or a "reform treaty" and named "Treaty of Lisbon".
On the basis of this deceit, they claimed that no referendums are necessary on the Lisbon Treaty. Ireland was constitutionally required to hold a referendum and on the 12 June 2008 the people of Ireland gave a resounding No to Lisbon. Yet this vote is not being respected and the rule of law is being ignored. The EU leaders agreed at the June 19-20 EU Summit that ratifications must go on. Moreover, no other government is asking the people.
The Lisbon Treaty establishes a new "European Union" with joint citizenship - an EU "federal" State that is technically and politically empowered to centralize more power in Brussels. The treaty also stipulates the militarisation of the Union in order to 'police the world' just like the US does today.

All these MEPs are getting a good screw out of the EU, our money paying for their extravagant lifestyles (expenses) and inflated ego's. They expect us to roll over and do whatever they want, you vote 'No' sorry we did not hear that, vote again except this time we will word it in such a way that you can only say 'Yes', that's democracy. You've done a deal with the devil and he is coming for his due's, you poor bastards.

For Ireland to leave the EU would be maddness. If it did then other countries would follow. All countries in teh EU shouls have a vote like Ireland does then it really will be the vioce of the people. The EU is supposed to be a democracy after all.

I know the content exactly. This changes are necessary to avoid blockades. They reduce bureaucracy.
Of course there are European people. Do you think the "celtic tiger" was a miracle? Ireland was one of the poorest countrys in europe. The European people build your country with over 50.000.000.000 Euro(!) up. Because Europeans show solidarity to each other.
So don't tell me there are no European People.

if u think the lisbon treaty is good for the european countries PEOPLE then ur talkin out ur arse. the lisbon treaty is impossible to read 4 a reason, but look at seaction 48 part 6. this means any treaty can be put through without referendums in all countries which means ireland wont be able to stop any further treaties, since at the moment were the only ones thats laws say we must have a referendum, thus letting the powerful push through whatever they want.

You don't know the real content. If you say you have read it you are a liar, since it is impossible to read it with the thousands of pages of the old constitution and hundreds of amendments in a totally separate volume.
There are no European people!
Ben5021 (August 28, 2008 at 3:22 pm)
Most of the people who are against the treaty don't know the real content.
The treaty will solve lots of the problems of the EU. Less bureaucracy, more democracy.
No one can stop the globalisation. I'm an industrial engineer and I can tell you: If we (the european people) don't stand together with a strong EU, we will have no chance against the new, rising superpowers in the next decades.
The failure of the treaty would be a disaster for our economy and our influence in the world.
fifijojo69 (August 28, 2008 at 1:57 pm)
ireland is not the only country who is against it, most countries in the EU. Ireland is refusing to be bullied into a yes vote.
there has to b a change in the treaty, the EU can't force a treaty on us when most of the counties in the EU are against Lisbon.
Ben5021 (August 28, 2008 at 1:24 pm)
Be realistic. I know the EU is not perfect, but she is worth fighting for.
The old treaty was intended für a ~10-country EU. Now we are 27. The EU can't work with the old treaty any longer. Russia, China, India&Co let us no time for stagnancy.
There are to options:
a) You agree to the treaty in a second referendum
b) you leave the EU
I seriously hope you will choose a). Ireland is an important part of europe.

yes, that 'appy guy is none other than the EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, which means he is sort of the cabinet prime minister of the new EU wannabe-state. He used to be PM of portugal before enrolling with the NWO. |
