I am a fan of Dir en Grey in that I listen to their songs and they reach me but last year I saw them perform live and...Kyo literally transforms onstage. At first he is a man, perhaps not like any other ne ;) but still seeming mortal and understandable. But then he becomes this...dragon like presence that manipulated the entire crowd; every move he made, even the slightest flick of his wrist was followed. You could feel his influence everywhere, in the energy of the venue. Like being hypnotised.

I believe both Rammstein and Dir en Grey have a lot of musical talents. They both have splendid lyrics that aren't just about getting some or shooting someone. I think Kyo and Till both sit down and really THINK about what they want the world to hear.
Their songs aren't songs. They're stories that you want to hear over and over. Both Rammstein and Dir en Grey are musical GODS

The emotions in his voice give off that type of vibe, which is pretty amazing. They're also different kinds of musical geniuses.
like Beethoven was a musical genius, no doubt about it, but for the music he composed at that time. This time there are different types of musical geniuses since they're so many different types of music. and back in Beethovens days there really wasnt a different genre other than classical.
just my opinion. ;]

Compared to other bands, Dir en grey is band that actually stands for something and sing about meaningful things that people can somewhat relate to. I also think just because of Kyos singing people overseas like Dir en grey more because of how he sings, and how you dont need to know japanese to connect with their music in any way.

In my opinion why people call kyo a genius or a lyrical genius is because just look at his lyrics and his stage performances. They're so heart-felt and when he sings he conveys the emotion of the song itself. His voice makes it just genius. He has such a good voice too. His lyrics are like nothing i've heard before.

This is one of the few Dir en Grey songs I can still enjoy! Most of their other stuff isn't good anymore!

But I think you can just get the wordplays and everything when you can really speak the language.
It´s the same with Rammstein. I am german and it´s sometimes hard to explain it to fans who don´t speak german.
Love that song^^
p.S: Sorry for the spelling mistakes in my first post...*coughs*
I wrote too fast (It´s not "mackes" it´s "makes" of course XD)
Sorry^^

Sometimes Dir en grey reminds me of Rammstein. I mean, the music is totally differnt and all ,but:
The both shock people and many people are discusted because of the lyrics, but it also mackes the listeners think about problems in society.
And there are also the wordplays.
I wish I could understand Dirus lyrics, but I don´t speak japanese, so I always have to look for translations and hope that they´re right XD
