He sounds great, but isn't 24 too young to be singing this kind of rep?

Whoever this kid is is a serious talent. Breathing problems aside, anybody who can do Cortigiani like this can eventually compare favorably with just about anybody. The voice is slightly too light for Middle Verdi, but it will darken with age.

Excellent for 24!! Vocal technique needs major polishing. The breath stops moving constantly (hence straight-toning some parts) and why the F to F portamento didn't happen correctly. Try breathing through a straw and taking in as much air as you can. I"m working on this aria myself and it's a killer! Best wishes and good luck!

He sings well. I sang this aria before switching to heldentenor. It is a great piece and Eric did a great job. I hope that other conductors will let Eric put more emotion into the piece. It seemed like the orchestra was not allowing for dramatic intensity. However, this is subjective.

THIS IS GREAT! But as good as the video is - Mr Dubin last week as Rigoletto in Dubuque was MUCH better. The acting was tops, and all lines were sung cleary and convincingly - never barked. His voice is thick and manly and jumps off the stage. This is a legitimate Lyric/Verdi Baritone.
