This book was required reading when I was in High School. They also showed us the Movie. Now that I've grown older and wiser, I come to realize that this "literature" is nothing more than liberal brainwashing propaganda. It is designed to humiliate whites while at the same time elevate blacks to Godlike status. I will not allow my son to read this crap. When a white woman is raped in real life, the perpetrator is statistically a black male. Black people are inherently savage and dangerous.

I really liked the book. But the movie seems like it would be boring. Maybe i should just netflix it.

Not many films do justice to a great book but this is one of the few that does.

I am always moved by this scene. Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) does a great job and when I first watched the movie in the 10th grade, I hung on to every word that he said and I believed with my whole heart that Tom Robinson was innocent of the crime of which he was accused.

This scene was, in my opinion, the greatest scene in movie history. Nothing can top this masterpiece. The only thing that let me down was Peck's voice, though that's probably because I imagined it was different. It does, however, fit Atticus so perfectly.
Bravo Gregory Peck. Bravo.

I agree. Gregory Peck bought the rights to the book, determined that any film made from it did it justice. The story goes that Peck did this speech in one take, and when he was through, the cast and crew burst into applause. That's why there's a very obvious cut after he charges the jury.
