ill never forget being introduced to metallica. it was 1985 and a guy studying to be a priest heard i played drums. he said, "if you like drums, you gotta listen to this" and he handed me a tape. i looked at it and it said "metallica - ride the lightning" -- first song i heard was 'for whom the bell tolls' and i was hooked. every song off RTL and MOP is excellent. im not too fond of newer metallica though. the black album was the beginning of the end for me.

Its not bad, and yeah definitely a step up from St. Anger, man that was probably the worst album they've ever put out, I mean yeah the other ones were bad, but that one really took them downhill

alright i see where you're coming from now
i think death magnetic is pretty fucking sick (ive heard most the tracks), definately a step uo from st. anger

Yes hazel09 it requires emotion to to make really good music like this. With out the emotion music is bland, like the hip-hop bullshit you probably listen to.

Metallica is a band that got off to a good start..and then what?
blacklabelsociety46 (September 7, 2008 at 4:20 am)
They did sell out dude. Their last good album was The Black Album, all the albums after that sucked. I've heard some of the Death Magnetic songs and its not Metallica still, its alright and better then their last 5 albums, but its still not Metallica. Nothing will ever make them the thrash band they once were.
