And I also want to stop this shit here! I am sorry if I hurt you with any of those so called 'racist' comments, I don mean to hurt anyone..And also I will make it a poin to tell Aamir about what i saw here in this forum, next time when i meet him...

Yes sorry may I am not informed well about Canadian employability factor , however I do not see any such need.. And also you never said anywher in this forum, that " message was good but it could have been more effective"

Read again what I said you fool. I am not saying the movie was about Punjabiyat. But Amir's stereotyping Punjabis like he did was annoying and superficial. Punjabis are brave and loyal, we are not about beating chests, or chanting 'bruuua' every 10 seconds! Actors in Bollywood need to be more authentic and convincing to the character they are playing and I thought Amir's character was the same old stereotypical stuff. I felt the movie lacked depth.

Canada is devoid of unemployment? What kind of rathole have you been living in all your life, idiot? The movie was NOT about caste based politics either. Stop rattling like some ignoramus. You comment about 'Canadian mentality' is pretty racist. You need to calm your ass and accept that the movie was not accepted by everyone.
And read again what I said before opening your fat mouth again. I said the message was good but it could have been more effective.

However, Punjabis in INDIA would appreciate it well.
vedaBang (September 10, 2008 at 8:23 pm)
The whole point of the movie is not to show what does Punajbi or punjabiat mean. Its to show somekind of social problem existing in my country, and this movie has crossed all the boundaris and proved very strong. I am quite sure foreign people, (though with some Indian Gene) can never appreciate, as it doesnt have some Masala in it...

Thats coz, u re watching from the place which is devoid of corruption, unemployement, caste based politics, corrupted asshole politicians and what not. The movie might not be Hit in CANADA, but thats not the point, the movie is made for Indians and its hit in India , u understand? now better keep your so called thoughts to your canadian mentanlity.
baxterrani (September 10, 2008 at 4:42 pm)
Amir's chanting 'bruuuuuuuuua' and 'chak de phatte' or some other slang every 10 seconds is annoying and completely unauthentic to Punjabiyat. His accent is neither Hindi nor Punjabi, some strange conglomerate. For a Punjabi, his acting is so off tune with real Punjabis. The acting was weird. I would think they would have someone from the region guiding him to give more weight to his character.
The movie itself wasn't bad, but not as good as it was hyped up to be.

vedaBang, what's your problem? I can't get my opinion on here, you jackass? You can go lick the director's ass, maybe he'll take you for a joker in his next movie. |
