The most important and insightful message from Harpo is very brief, 3:23 to 3:25, but speaks volumes about the man and his music. Your doctor-bashing is inappropriate, especially because your opinion is asserted in a tribute to Harpo Marx. I wish you PEACE.

I think that Harpo's style of comedy would be ignored or even spurned if it were being presented to the public for the first time today. I do not believe today's audiences really understand inobvious satire.

Harpo's comedy was gentle, in spite of all the aparent fury and frazzle of it. He was never offensive or caustic in his humor. He was like a child who didn't want to grow up. He only seemed to poke fun at those around him, and was quite happy to poke fun at himself.

Chaplin did silent work well into the 30s by choice. Most of his time speaking was in more serious parts. Modern Times is still one of the most influential films (at least comedies) of the 20th century, made in '32 and not a word uttered by Chaplin.
