I come back again and again to hear how lovely..and I think certainly the soloist always has the option to dress with flair and expect them too..and it is a relief to not worry that the dress might drop below the "equater" during the performance. It is both appropriate and in good taste. The soloist always wears something special or at least this has been my experience in some 40 years of attending and playing in symphonies. That is part of the honor and they should get to shine.
