Forget why you think Dave Grohl is great- just listen to the guy wail on a little kids toy drum set. He makes it sound like a $5000 DW drum kit and he's not even trying. yeah, plenty of other drummers could do the same, but it's pretty damn fun to watch.

Um....I don't know what super magical writing credits you are reading, but Dave only recieved credit for writing three songs- Teen Spirit, Drain you and Scentless Apprentice (In Utero).
That said, he's a talented genius of course, but writing the he gets credit for "most of Nirvana's songs" is simply untrue.

i think his first real instrument was the guitar. and he learned drums for one of his earlier bands because they didnt have a drummer. id say he's talented. and he is in the spotlight for a reason.

If you knew anything about grunge music, you would know that grunge music is the exact opposite of catchy, radio-friendly tunes - which is called pop. The reason these guys got people's attention at all is b/c they were original with their sound. Perhaps you were born after 1985 or something, and obviously, don't know anything about 90s music, FAG!

Thinking I'm calling him overrated in attempt of being cool is a fairly flawed thought. I'm just trying to get people to know that he is not the best at what he does. Would you consider the Jonas Brothers good because they achieved stardom for making catchy tunes that a lot of people buy?
And I do like some artists in the spotlight, like MGMT or QOTSA. See, I'm not cool!

if you check the writing credits for most of nirvanas songs, Dave is the one who wrote them. so i think he deserves more credit then yu give him intothevoid92. i know it's cool to dislike what's popular but when you got famous 16 years ago and you are still in the spotlight... i think that means something.

He achieved stardom in Nirvana because the had a knack for making catchy, radio friendly songs that sold well. His next band got famous for the fact that he had the same talent at making catchy songs and for the fact he was in Nirvana.
This is so simple, yet you all think the guy is a genius. Josh Homme crushes this guy in terms of making rock'n'roll music and playing guitar, and gets a good deal of recognition because Dave Grohl played in his band once.
