The sons of Otis had a group out back in the 80's called The Reddings.

both otis redding an aretha franklin did a good job with the song, do we really need to primarily attribute it with only one? pretty interesting that redding sung it for men wanting respect from women, and franklin sung it for exactly the opposite

did Otis and Aretha ever do any duets? I don't recall.

A lot of people attribute this song to Aretha. As great as she may be, it was Otis Reddings song.
R.I.P Otis :(

I just got done watching a special on Otis on PBS & saw this performance! You can feel that energy as he starts to dance! R.I.P. Otis. I hate that I never got to see him in person. I was born in '71. Thankfully we have his music & these performances.

This was right before he boarded his forsaken play to Madison, WI. All the Bar-Kays (minus 1) and Otis perished. Maybe he sensed the performance would be his last because this isn't his best (plus he was warned on poor weather conditions. Tragic loss...
