sunking- Unfortunately, life isn't always fair. George spent most of his life in the shadows of Sir Paul McCartney and the almost mystical John Lennon. While you may wish George to be an equal, in point of fact, George is largely already forgotten. While I recognize his contributions to the Beatles, keep in mind that he was the only Beatle to be convicted of Plagiarism...and the only Beatle who NEEDED to. To this day, not one statue, bench, street or park is named after George Harrison. Not one.

pomm- George, who interestingly enough, preached the principles of Karma to anyone who would listen, built himself a trap of sorts. We are now left wondering what horrible things George must've done to deserve being stabbed within an inch of his life, and then...the horrific form of cancer which ultimately took his life. Unless, of course, you think his beliefs were all nonsense. It's entirely possible, considering the severity of George's Karmic payback...that he's not in heaven at all.

i became a beatles fan when my mom bequeathed to me her albums from the 60s when i was probably 10 years old. that was all she wrote. george was always my favorite, because of his incredible talent and presence. and now with finding these things on youtube, its like rediscovering that same feeling when i first played those records-just amazing. rip george, heaven is a brighter place for your soul.

George's legacy will live on...right along with all of the Beatles. He wrote absolute "masterpieces". He was the perfect "offset" to John and Paul. Some bands are fortunate to have two musical geniuses...the Beatles had THREE!!! Ringo was the perfect drummer...the "sum of all the parts" = once in a lifetime band! |
