Why all the debate about who is singing this version of "God Only Knows"? The description PLAINLY states that it is BRIAN!!! Don't you people believe what is stated at the top of the video? Do you feel that MrTomaX, who posted this video, does not know what he is talking about? I listened to it ONE time and I can easily hear that it is NOT Carl. In the end, Brian sacrificed this song to him, but this is Brian's original take.

As far as I know, there is no Pet Sounds-era version with Brian singing lead. I used to frequent the Cabinessence message board, and this was a point of discussion some years ago. Brad Elliot, who is something of an obesessive expert, claimed at that time that the description on the PS boxed set that "Brian sings lead" is wrong. And when I listened to it again, I realized it's not even debatable. It is clearly, clearly Carl.

Good one MEAAAJohn this is exactly what I've been saying.I only know Carls version which I think this is and no one has been able to point me to a source to compare the supposed Brian version.If it's available where is it to compare. |
