yeah those people are excellent as well. but there's no need to get angry. i regard zakir hussain as one of the best tabla players not only because of his technical prowess, but also because of what he's done for indian music as a whole. he is famous because of his willingness to work with other forms of music which is something that indian music needs more of.

no it's not. i'm a sikh myself and i say it's not. it was invented by amir khusro, a muslim. the word tabla even comes from the arabic word tabl, which means drum. and by the way, tabla is spelled with one "b."
