I agree with you.I am moved to tears with Billie Holiday even though her singing was full of mistakes but I am also moved by Alfredo Karus and Joan Sutherland precisely because of their perfection.
If bocelli has brought you peace and completeness then that is good,it is a question of how anyone of us is touched and why.

We all have to learn to agree to disagree. We cannot all like the same things - the world would be an awfully boring place if we did.
To you this might be horrendous singing but to millions it brings a lot of pleasure as can be seen by the sale of over 60 million of Andrea's albums.
Andrea may not be technically perfect but his singing reaches one's very soul - something that many of the technically perfect singers cannot do.

What is RSCM? have no clue.
Pavarotti used a microphone when singing for 85000 people at public stadiums or central park in ny for over 100000 people.On the other hand when he sang at all major opera houses around the world he never resorted to that.
bocelli uses a microphone EVERYWHERE for thousands of people or for a few hundred as he has no idea how to project his voice not having any technical knowledge on how to do it.
To compare Pavarotti with bocelli is an insult to his memory. |
